The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

To all you dudes who just watched me, I uh. Normally don't get involved in dArama shenanigans like that. In fact, these past couple weeks, this has been the most socially active I've been on this site in like.... two years or something. In fact I didn't even think it was gonna turn into that, pffpfpfpf.

But uh...

You all should go look at ~Flippy111's work; she's an excellent artist, and she's improved rapidly since I first saw her work. She's fun to watch, and her work is great, and it's just gonna get better.

And Flippy, if you read this, I am so so so so SO SO SOOOO fucking sorry that that happened on your art, if you want to request something from me, you can, I feel bad. ._. I posted that on your page already, but whichever you see first, I am sorry, hnng. I was just getting irritated and upset with the fact that that guy didn't think it was right to pay artists a decent amount for their work and it blew up into stupid town all over your piece, ugh.
